Edward Steichen (27 martie 1879 – 25 martie 1973), nascut in Bivange, Luxembourg, a fost un fotograf, pictor si custode de muzeu american. In parteneriat cu Steiglitz, Steichen a deschis expozitia “Little Galleries of the Photo-Secession”, cunoscuta ca 291, adupa numarul strazii. Aceasta galerie e prima galerie americana cu lucrari de Henri Matisse, Auguste Rodin, Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso si Constantin Brancusi.
