Matthias Marris (17 august 1839, The Hague – 22 august 1917, Londra) a fost un pictor, desenator si litograf olandez. Initial a apartinut scolii Hague School, ca cei doi frati ai sai, Jacob si Willem, insa lucrarile lui ulterioare au devait din ce in ce mai mult intrun stil unic influentat de pre-rafaeliti.

La varsta de 12 ani, Matthijs s-a inscris la Academia de Arta din Haga, insa nu a luat examenul de intrare. Astfel ca aluaat lectii de la Isaac Cornelis Elink Sterk, secretarul Academiei. Dupa un an a fost admis si a studiat la Academie pana in 1855.
