A 19-year-old man has been charged with the brutal killing of a cat on the Gold Coast of Australia.
In a gruesome attack, the male is alleged to have decapitated the cat and used its blood to write a threat on the door of a Gold Coast house.
The Royal Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals put up a $5000 reward to find the cat’s killer, describing the attack as one of the worst acts of animal cruelty it had seen.
The owner of the cat was said to have been heartbroken. The cat – a female called Moo who had been nursing six kittens – had been stolen from the owner’s house and then taken to the scene where it was killed. The owner stated to media that the killer deserves to go to jail.
The justice system needs to send a clear message to the likes of Jordan Christie that if you commit acts of torture on animals, you will be severely punished. It may well be time to bring in new laws for crimes of cruelty of this magnitude.
Please sign and share the petition to demand justice for Moo the cat.
Two Arkansas duck hunters are being charged after they allegedly killed three cats while hunting. The two men had warrants out for their arrest after they were reported to have shown off their killings on social media pages. They posted disturbing photos of them holding up dead cats like prizes. They are now being charged with aggravated animal cruelty.
Prosecute Man for Killing and Hanging 25 Cats From Trees
|No animal should suffer like this.|
|Every year, tens of thousands of dogs are snatched from streets and backyards in Thailand and tossed into cramped, filthy cages. With no food or water and barely enough room to move, many will suffocate, be crushed to death, or die from exposure. Shockingly, their torture has only just begun.
These dogs are on their way to China or Vietnam, where many will be skinned alive or thrown straight into a vat of boiling water, and then butchered for meat.
With celebrities like Ricky Gervais and Judi Dench spreading the word over 500,000 people have already added their name to this petition – and we’ve had some great coverage in international press.
The good news is that it looks like it’s all working. Soi Dog learned in recent high level meetings that Thai Government officials are strongly opposed to the dog meat trade and are concerned about the country’s international reputation.
