Caspar David Friedrich s-a nascut in Greifswald, Hither Pomerania.
In 1794 a intrat la prestigioasa Academie din Copenhaga, iar in 1798 s-a stabilit in Dresda. deseori picta in tus de India, acuarele si sepia. In 1808, intro perioada cand Friedrich crestea in popularitate, el a expus una dintre cele mai controversate picturi, The Cross in the Mountains (Gemäldegalerie, Dresden).

O zi frumoasa, Gabi! 🙂
